Valentine’s Day

•February 7, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and we know this is one of the most popular days of the year for engagements (behind Christmas).  When I think of Valentine’s Day, a few things come to mind:  Red, Pink, Cupid and those candy hearts with all the sayings on them.  What do you think of when you think of Valentine’s?

The traditional red and/or pink color schemes can sometimes be boring and bland, which made me want to look for some beautiful and unique red and pink themed weddings that would be perfect for a Valentine’s Day wedding.  I came across two different wedding ideas that really wowed me!  I love how bold these colors are and really prominent in the pictures.  The flowers pop and everything blends so elegantly.

It also had me thinking about when the next February 14th would fall on a Saturday.  Come to find out, in the next 10 years, Valentine’s Day will fall on a Saturday in 2015.  The last Saturday Valentine’s Day fell on was in 2009.  So brides, planners and vendors Save the Date in 2015 as we all know this will be a popular date for weddings!

We hope everyone has a Happy Valentine’s Day next week and lastly we want everyone to know that Salutations & Soirees LOVES our all of brides!

New Year’s Resolution…start blogging more!

•January 3, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Happy 2011 to all our friends and wedding professionals out there!  We are off to a great start in 2011 and looking forward to all the fun weddings we have planned this year.  So far, it seems like October is going to be our busiest month.  It must be the new June!  With a new year, comes new resolutions.  Ours is to start blogging more frequently so that you all can keep up with what’s going on in our busy lives!  We can barely keep up ourselves, but we’re going to give it a whirl!

We’d like to start giving out wedding tips and trends for planning your big day so be sure to check back periodically so you don’t miss anything.

First trend of the New Year….

Gray is the new Black this year and it considered the new “IT” color for a neutral palette. Organic and natural, shades of charcoal, dove, stone, oyster and shell will be incorporated liberally into wedding color palettes and paired with vibrant hues to make the colors pop! And while grey remains the talk of the town for 2011, Navy Blue is definitely on trend for this year! Metallics will also be big in 2011 and adds a nice touch to both the Gray and Navy Blue families.  I LOVE both of these pictures that display the new hot colors of 2011!

Your Save the Date is the 1st impression people will have of your big day so have your color scheme in mind so that you can pull your primary color all the way through from beginning to end.

Many times brides feel like they are stuck with using only “fall colors” in the fall and “bright/bold colors” in the summer, but with these 2 colors and the metallics pulled in you can’t go wrong in 2011 whatever time of year you’re looking at.

We’re looking forward to helping you plan your special day and still have weekends available in 2011. Be sure to contact us to schedule your complimentary consultation and let us begin planning your special day!

Crazy weekend, crazy life!

•October 13, 2010 • Leave a Comment

This weekend was one crazy weekend for the girls at Salutations & Soirees!  We had 2 weddings (did I mention they were on the same day?!).  That’s right!  10.10.10 proved to be a popular day for  brides this year!  We enjoyed working with both couples during the planning process and wish them nothing but the best!

Kendra and Zach tied the knot at The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel and the reception was held at the beautiful Westin Poinsett in downtown Greenville.  The wedding party was escorted down the mountain in limos and the bride and groom were able to spend time together in this old time car on the way to the reception. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Zach Trabookis!

We also had the privilege to coordinate the ceremony and reception for Kristin and Josh this past weekend!  This was such a fun loving couple and they  had a fabulous group of friends and family that surrounded them during this special time in their life.  Josh is one of the chefs at Devereaux’s so you can imagine the food was FABULOUS!!  If you have not eaten here then you must.  Tell them we sent you!  Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Josh Hughes!!!

More pics to come from these events in the next few weeks!
